Application Process

Who Can Apply

  • Eligibility - Genesis is a statewide school. Any student in the state of Georgia entering grades K-7 can apply to Genesis for the 2018-19 school year.  Genesis will add a grade each year until the school is K-12.
  • No Tuition - Genesis is a free, public school. Although no tuition is required, Genesis has a uniform policy and uniform purchase is required. 
  • Good Standing - Any student in good disciplinary standing can apply. Students serving a suspension or an expulsion in another school or system are not eligible.

Admissions Process

Lottery Application

Thank you for your interest in Genesis Innovation Academy. Lottery Applications for new students interested in applying for the 2018–2019 school year will be available online beginning February 1, 2018, through March 16, 2018. Any applications received after the March 16, 2018, deadline will be placed on the 2018-2019 waitlist.

Applications received after March 16, 2018:

  • All applicants who apply after the March 16, 2018, deadline will be placed on the waitlist based on the date of application.


  • Children of Staff and Board of Directors are given priority in admissions
  • Siblings of any students admitted to either the Boys or Girls Academy are also given priority

Admissions Notification:

  • Families will be notified of their admissions status by March 30, 2018.
  • Those families who are not admitted will be placed on a waitlist.
  • All admissions notifications will be sent by e-mail.  (Please be aware that your email inbox {Gmail, MSN,etc} may sort email to other boxes such as Promotions Tab on Gmail, Junk Mail, Spam, or other folders. )
