Girls' School Director


The Girls’ School Director will oversee all facets of the school’s operation that directly impacts student learning. This will include monitoring of classroom instruction, management of all internal and external assessment data, and curriculum development for all subject areas. The Director will oversee all instructional staff and will report directly to the Head of Schools. Prospective candidates should becommitted to creating an environment in which our girls can become the empowered, accomplished young women they were meant to be.

Specific Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership in the ongoing development, improvement, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, and assessment
• Coordinate the selection and/or development of curriculum and support materials
• Implement effective systems to monitor academic progress of students
• Develop and manage the master schedule of courses/instructional blocks
• Coach teachers on instructional planning and delivery
• Coach teachers on the effective use of data to drive instruction
• Collaborate with Academic Support Coordinator to ensure that Special Education instruction, Student Support Team (SST) interventions, and academic support programs are aligned with instructional goals
• Ensure that Gifted instruction is effectively coordinated and aligned with core instruction
• Coordinate faculty development programming
• Assist Head of Schools in conducting selection and evaluation of teachers
• Serve as school Testing Coordinator, including development of internal assessments, and oversight of the administration and scheduling of state mandated and internal assessments
• Serve as liaison to parents for curriculum, instruction and assessment concerns
• Assist in making formal reports to the board of trustees on student academic performance

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Prior experience with managing, coaching, and developing teachers or other educational professionals
• Prior experience and passion for working with girls in large group teaching, counseling, or related settings

Preferred Qualifications:
• Graduate degree
• Teaching and/or leadership experience in Elementary Education
• Talented and Gifted Certification
• Leadership Certification
• Demonstrated ability in working with youth in a teaching, counseling or other applicable capacity
• Demonstrated ability to raise student performance through teaching, coaching, or managing educational programming
• Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects
• Demonstrated ability in data management and presentation
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with parents, professional staff and the community
• Agreement with the academic goals and philosophy of the charter school
