Great Start Checklist
Power School
All families will have a power school account which will allow parents to monitor grades, attendance and other administrative information for your scholar.
Power school login information will be provided to new families during the first few weeks of school.
If you do not receive this information by the end of the first week of school, please reach out to Ms. Julia Neal.
You will need to create your account using the internet browser on your computer.
The District Code for Genesis Innovation Academy is: DXBC
Once you create and verify your account you will be able to download the Power School app to your phone.

Dismissal System
Genesis uses a dismissal system called Pikmykid. This system integrates seamlessly with Power School and gives parents control over any changes or adjustments as it relates to their scholar's dismissal.
Please see the flyer below and get started by downloading the App. We will send out additional instructions in the upcoming days before school starts and we will also be available to assist parents with setup during Open House.
School Messenger Opt In
Each family should text Yes to 67587 In order to Opt In to our School Messenger system. This will allow real time updates via text and email and will be used as a primary form of communication.

Scholar Uniforms

Important Scholar Health Information
Each family must complete all applicable health forms for each scholar. Please access the Student Health Services page using the link below.
School Supply List
Genesis Family Handbook
All families are responsible for the information in the Family Handbook. The required parent signature pages are included in the online registration. Scholars are required to sign and submit a separate commitment page and that will be completed in their homeroom class, however, parents should go over this information with scholars at home as well.

Before/After School Care Options
For the 2024-2025 Academic year, Global Tech Academy will continue to be our before care and after care provider. All families are required to set up a family account with Global Tech even if you do not foresee using our aftercare provider.
Nutrition Page
Good nutrition is vital to our scholars' learning and physical development. Genesis Innovation Academy’s Nutrition Department is designed to encourage scholars’ development of good eating habits that will last a lifetime.
Our food service provider is SLA Management. SLA offers healthy food options including vegetarian and gluten free lunch options. Your scholar(s) also has the option of bringing their lunch from home.
Please be mindful that Genesis Innovation Academy is a NUT-FREE CAMPUS. No peanut products are allowed on campus.
Scholars are allowed to bring lunch from home, but please keep in mind the following:
- Microwave ovens and refrigerators will not be available for student use.
- Food deliveries for Genesis scholars will not be accepted. (This includes services like UberEATS, Grub Hub, and Postmates)

Schoology
Genesis uses Schoology to keep track of student assignments. Please click the link below for instructions to set up your Schoology account.
Bus Transportation
Genesis does not offer bus transportation.
What's New This Year
* New Family Orientation will be Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 6pm
* 2nd New Family Orientation will be Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 6pm
* Returning Family Orientation will be Tuesday July 16, 2024 (Time TBD)
Our New and Returning Family Orientation meetings will be held virtually via Teams.
A link will be emailed to the email address on file to all Registered families prior to their respective meeting.
Open House
The Open house will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
K-2: 9:00 AM -10:30AM
3-5: 11:00 AM - 12:30PM
6-8: 1:30 PM - 3:00PM
First day of school:
Start date August 1, 2024.

| Lower School (K-4th Grade) | 8am-2:45pm |
| Lower School (5th Grade) | 8am-3:15pm |
| Middle School (6th - 8th Grade) | 8am-3:15pm |
Dismissal Times and Sibling Care
Scholars, not attending an afterschool provider, must be picked up within 30 minutes of their dismissal time.
Scholars not picked up by their scheduled dismissal time will proceed to Global Tech Academy. Parents will need to park and pick up scholars from GTA and pay appropriate fees.
Sibling care, for the half hour between the lower school dismissal time and the upper school dismissal time, is offered for free as a courtesy for families with multiple scholars with different dismissal times. This allows for families to come at one dismissal time to pick up all of their scholars. Sibling care is only for siblings.
